I don't think the country should ban importing different goods because as you notice, the Philippines doesn't have enough capability to cater all the necessities of its citizens by just sourcing out from its local raw materials
For example, our rice. It has been a staple for us, but do you know that the majority of the rice we eat is coming from our neighboring countries such as Thailand and Vietnam.
Therefore, it's a clear manifestation that the country cannot stand on its own without importing goods.
As regards to improving our local products, that's a great idea but still you cannot remove the situation that we still have to import goods.

i think we should focus more of our local goods. because no one shall enjoy the benefits of them before us. we must be patriotic. but being of that(patriotic) means like banning the importation of goods. i think we must import in the less numbers of them and promote more of local goods. promoting such more likely as courtship or else, as making a person be part of a particular religion you belong, and/or, making all of the pilipino read the holy bible, q'uran or any holy readings you have. just an OPINION.

i'm ren-ger lyn fom BAMC 2C. My position over this matter is that we should not ban importation and focus more on our local goods. this is because as an open economy we are supposed to have trade with other countries so that our financial markets would be better off. and in addition, our country sometimes does not produce sufficient supply of goods like rice that can satisfy the need of filipinos.

First of all, hello I'm jessa grace olesco from BAMC 2-B. I don't really think that the government should necessarily ban the importation of different goods. It's not like it would help solve the current economic problem our country is facing for as we know, there are some products that we do need but not readily available here and vice versa. Plus, it is an undeniable fact that the Philipppines is dependent when it comes to the supply of petroleum products---we import it from other countries. But then I agree about focusing on the production of local goods. Problems in the economy may arise due to too much importation of goods that we even forgot that we have our own resources. We, together with our government, should participate in controlling the production of goods whether it be imported or local. And when we think about it, balance in importation, exportation, and local production of goods is the key to a healthy and fair economic competition in a country (i.e., Philippines). In that way, i believe, there would be a good economic trade here in our country.

Jeremiah Jodloman of BSCRIM 3-A here. I think we should just even things out.Instead of favoring one side than the other because it would make our economy in my opinion more dynamic and versatile by not depending too much on our own or other countries.

i'm in favor to ban the importations of products because didnt we know that the major cause of the problems of our local producers are importation. it causes our local industry to close or split down hence the RP became a large trash bin for other's garbage. our local producers can supply most of our needed raw materials and finished products so we should ban or at least decrease the importation of products. if ever there's a shortage of supply well that's the time that we will import such goods from other countries (ariel of bamc 2b)

i'm raymark francisco dela cruz,bs criminology 3-a , i agree about the opinion of my classm8,they said,g'' Our government import different goods because there are shortage in the supply of our local goods but the demand is so high. Instead of banning the importation we must control the number of imported goods so that our local goods and imported goods will have a fair competition."

Banning the importation of different of goods should not be applied. Because some products that are already labeled as a necessity here in our country are supplied by the foreign lands because we cannot supply it for ourselves. It will also endanger the status of our economy. Because of the mere fact that the foreigners are the primary investors here in the Philippines. And it also makes us competitive because it widens the opportunity, for us, to introduce our local products to them. -ada patricia salvador, BAMC II-B

I'm gettro chad l. guillermo of criminology 3a. We should focus in utilizing our resources before we import goods. But because of massive globalization we cannot control the entries of foreign goods in our country. I think our government must promote our local product so that filipinos will attract to buy local goods.

Jeremiah G. Jodloman of BS Crim 3-A here. In my opinion we should just limit the importation rather than totally banning the whole process. For example if our country produces a product then that's the time we should ban the same product coming from other countries.
We should just balance things out rather than overdoing things. Its important to note that our country cant produce everything that its citizen need, got to look for something else.
